Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information is collected when you visit askkamal.com (the "site"), operated by Kamal Hans under the name AskKamal ("I", "me"). The short version: this site does not run analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and it does not store your personal information on its own servers.

Information you choose to share

When you sign up, book or get in touch, the form hands you off to a third-party service, which collects and stores your details under its own privacy policy:

• Newsletter: your email address goes to Substack (Substack privacy policy).
• Booking a call: your name, email and any details you add go to Calendly (Calendly privacy notice).
• Contact form: your answers go to Typeform (Typeform privacy policy).

I use this information only to reply to you, schedule and deliver work you ask for, and send the newsletter you subscribed to. I do not sell or rent your personal information.

Information collected automatically

Like any website, the server that hosts this site may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and reliability. The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts and icons from cdnjs (Cloudflare), which means those providers receive your IP address when your browser requests those files. Cookies and browser storage

This site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. It stores a few small items in your browser's local storage so the site works the way you left it:

• askkamal_theme_pref and askkamal_theme: your light or dark theme choice.
• askkamal_consent: your choice on the cookie banner.

Calendly, Typeform and Substack may set their own cookies when you visit their pages. You can clear browser storage at any time in your browser settings, and change your cookie choice with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the home page. If analytics are ever added, they will only run after you choose "Accept", and this policy will be updated first.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict its use. To make a request, email info@askkamal.com. For data held by Substack, Calendly or Typeform, you can also contact those services directly. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

How long information is kept

I keep correspondence and booking details only as long as needed to respond, deliver the work you asked for, and meet legal or accounting obligations. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with the link in every email.

Children

This site is intended for professionals and is not directed at children under 16. I do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
